LIMOGES, JEWELRY & UNIQUE CREATIONS

I entered the fascinating world of enameling some 35 years ago in Vienna, Austria, training with famous artist Eva Scherer as an apprentice. After my journeyman examination I remained at the workshop to broaden my educational experience and technical ability through further study.

Having been introduced to a variety of techniques in the centuries old process of enameling, I specialized in Limoges finding it best suited allowing me to create miniature paintings with enamels.

I believe in the validity of realistic expression, the true way, for me, to capture the soul and beauty of all of earth creations. My expressions and observations of animal and human portraiture as well as landscapes are inspired by our travels to many places throughout the world.

My love for this medium is ever growing. To see the melted enamel powders emerge from the kiln and cool to brilliant colors sparkling not unlike gemstones creates a sense of wonderment and excitement every time.

My husband Wolfgang is very much involved in every enamel piece, from the copper shape to creating the hand fabricated settings for our jewelry. We strive to create small treasures that will be cherished for a lifetime and beyond.

Our Limoges are in many private collections throughout world and often include special request commissions augmenting miniature Limoges paintings, jewelry, miniature plates, bowls and Christmas ornaments.

We have, and still continue, to exhibit in many fine Art and Craft Festivals in the US, as well as, several "International Juried Exhibits" sponsored by the Northern California Enamel Guild and the Enamelist Society. New York’s Aaron Faber Gallery and The Light Opera in San Francisco have shown our work.

Our enamel work has been featured in Karen L. Cohen recently published book "The Fine Art of Enameling" and our Limoges are included in the 2010 "Best of America Jewelry Artists" Volume II.

Karen L. Cohen has featured our enamel work in her books "The Fine Art of Enameling" first and second edition.
